Nope.  There is an offset of the rear wheel that is correct.  "Over-stock" size tires also normally rub on the bolts for the saddle bag supports too.  I think that the difference would be if someone tried to "correct" the normal offset by changing the axle bolt spacers around.

Thanks Greg.  Cheesy  That at least puts my mind at ease.  I was starting to wonder ever so slightly if mine was somehow offset incorrectly, even though I was fairly certain that my tire changeout was the first time that the rear wheel had been removed.

So I checked that spacers.. didn't have to put down the wheel.. I could see just with eyes that spacer on the left side is bigger that one one right side.. So sill don't know why my wheel is more to the left side..  ???

The wheel does appear to be offset but it is just an illusion. as it is still in line with the front wheel that way.

Back to the squeak part....it is almost impossible to get the belt to be perfectly centered on the pulley.  There is a little bearing play in the pulley and it mounts to the wheel with rubber bushings, so the pulley isn't so rigidly mounted that you can really center the belt.  One small turn on the adjusters can make it go from one side to the other quickly.  Besides there is only about 1/16" gap between the belt and pulley rim anyway.

The squeak is from either dirt or too much tension on the belt.  Get the wheel adjusters positioned equally with the correct belt tension, and then make sure the belt is clean.  That should fix you up.

Took it for a spin the other day to wash it off, and possibly remedy the squeaking.  I noticed it was quiet as can be.  I wonder if the change in temperature was a factor.  It was a lot colder the last time I rode it.  Maybe it made the belt draw up and be too tight.  Anyway, thanx for all the help.  I'm sure I'll need it eventually.

Maybe "illusion" was the wrong word.  The wheel IS offset in the fender normally.

There is a mechanical reason for the tire rubbing the nuts.  Guess that it's time to get to work with some wrenches.  What has been added or changed from stock?

A good picture of the rear tire from a low angle, looking at both shocks and the wheel adjusters might help me get and idea.

Also. a picture of the front pulley cover, too.  You can send them to me offlist, if you have trouble posting them (but I'm sure that everyone wants to see also Smiley
