the return of sunny

christmas is always a busy mess having so many kids so i have been very busy.

did two things this weekend.

changed the starter relay. (the old one was just starting to not be reliable)
and put a 150 jet in the carb.

things i learned this weekend:
1. you MUST have a special tool to remove the starter relay. fortunately a mechanic lives around the corner from me so i borrowed his. the tool required is long and thin with a bend in the middle. you need also a shallow 10 socket with a swivel.

2. i learned that it was VERY EASY to change the jet.  and a 150 makes a big difference in power.

3. i learned that if the fuel tank goes on very easily, it means that the rubber cover for one of the tank mounts is on the ground.

and for those of you in snow, i rode to work this morning.

Hey, Sunny, glad you're back & Happy New Year.

When you changed the jet, did you also remove the white plastic washer?  I have wanted to change mine, but I just haven't gotten up enough nerve to try yet.  It would be just my luck to screw the whole thing up! LOL

What other projects have you done / want to do?

well, now the plan to change to a pod airfilter has been put to the fore front.
why?
because a side cover fell off my bike this morning on the ride to work and was promptly flattened by a semi.

yeah. i get my motivation to do things from strange places.

also, in january when it once again becomes to cold to ride, i plan on buying a blank rear fender and turning my bike into a one seater.
of course, then i'll have to paint the tank to match the rear fender. and either remove the front fender or paint it too. and get a new rear light kit of some type.

and then i need to replace the windsheild.

I've been working different hours lately, haven't posted in months.  I saw Sunny a couple of afternoons ago coming home from work.  I would ride mine to work, but I'm too much of a wuss.  It's darn cold at 3:30 in the morning.

Hey, sunny - I have a sport shield I'm not using that I got from savagethumper.  I am willing to part with it.   E-mail me if you are interested - I'll give you the same deal Mike gave me: $0

My address is in my profile.
