I was aware of that too!  Sad

A lot of them is from Anderson from the advert bar on the forum.   The stolen bike was from Boston.  I did check to see where the other sellers parts were from and they didn't seem to be from that area.

Those are very nice seats!  Have you got yours in yet?  I should get the 03 Savage seat I got off of eBay any day now.

Mine's got another few weeks.  I can't ride anyway for a few more months.  The seller want's MO or Cashier's Checks, so I had my Bill Pay service send him a check.   He'll probably get it in a week.  I hope to see it abut a week later.

I just got my 03 Savage seat yesterday.  It looks pretty rough, but it does feel softer than my 01 seat (which is in better condition).

I'll try the new one out and sell the one I don't like on eBay.

Man, that is one beautiful seat!

With regard to pads as opposed to a whole new seat, I'd seen the Travelcade and Airhawk types but this one was new to me.  It looks interesting - especially since the company also makes pads for medical use.  I'm using a sheepskin cover at the moment and am pleased with it.  It's cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter... basically great for all seasons around town and short trips but I am looking into other possibilities for longer rides and if I can slide one under my sheepskin, so much the better.

I'll through my new seat on once the weather cools back down to normal.  Doesn't look anywhere as nice as that one, but my butt will be covering it!

I can see how this eBay thing can be additive. I'm now bidding on a new tank!

The GEl-Tec cushion is a wonderful thing.  My wife has back problems, 2 bad discs in the lower lumbar, and I got her a seat cushion from the company that manufactures the Gel-Tec product...it is a medical pad made for folks who are confined to wheelchairs and is nothing short of miraculas.  She can sit for hours in a chair or a car seat whereas before 30 minutes was the most she could do.  The Gel-Tec product is the best gel I have ever seen.  If you go to the manufacturers website you can get the gel itself for about $30, trim to fit your seat and put it in a zipper pouch.  I am away from home now but when I return next week I will post the home website for the product.  I was my plan to make a full one-piece seat using the Gel-tec during the winter.  When complete  I will post the pic's of the project.

It's good to hear from someone who has some actual experience with the product (at least reliable second-hand experience, in this case).  I hate thinking about buying over the web without input other than the manufacturer's claims.  The only thing I saw as a bit different with this company is that they produce a lot of therapeutic pads using the same materials as are used in the motorcycle seat pad.

This is the basic GEL TEC Technology page with links to their various products.

Gitarzan, can you post a picture of the bottom side of the seat?  I'm curious if it's set up the same as the GTS Toba.

Okeley Dokeley...

At the top is an inset where the back bar goes.

Then there's some bumpers that go against the fender.

Then you got yer German sticker, I don't know what it says.  Is doesn't say Verboten or have any exclamation marks or death's heads, so I'll ignore it for now.

Then there's some more bumpers with a place to mount the electronic ignition module.

At the bottom is the infamous steel plate.  You can see the holes that bolt it to the front seat bracket assy.  You can pull back the front leather part of the seat to access the bolt heads to screw it down, but I've heard how it's a good way to scratch the bejeebers out of your tank.

Odar sent me a great idea how he mounted his with a homemade mounting plate and bolts that rise above it that holds it on with friction.

I may well utilize his solution or my own variant of it.
