Am i the only one that as no problem removing/refitting the tank...lady luck is on my side for once yipeee!!  Smiley

Old trick I learned from a Jaguar car mechanic, he used to work on the v-12 engines. They have so many hoses.

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the carburetor and the fuelhose from the petc*ck.

Finally something I can add.
The first time I removed the tank I had to remove the fuel pet thingy.
The two bolts holding the seat bracket and the back of the tank to the frame have rubber spacers with metal inserts-these are there for a reason...BUT...if you turn them upside down when you replace the tank (make sure the rubber spacers underneath line up - a drop of silicone will hold them in place) you will no longer need to remove the petthingy. Now you can  easily push the tank to left side and the petthingy will clear the frame..
Go figure

For all you good folk across the "pond".
In the UK we don't have any trouble with spell checkers filters etc on the the petc..k because we call it a "fuel tap".

Our spell checker has been fixed, our fingers have not.

petcock, petcock, petcock.
