Posts: 682 Eastern PA Gender:	Part Compatability 10/16/04 at 07:26:55 How do I figure out if a part from an "86 will fit my '04 without seeing it? Specifically I want to know if the seat pan has changed on the pillion seat. I need an extra seat pan for a project I'm working on. It looks like I could get an "86 pillion seat cheap but I don't know if it will fit. Any ideas on how to figure it out or does anyone know?

Doesn't the '04 have a one-piece seat (driver/passenger)? And the 'new for 04' seat bolts down at the back of the passenger part?

If so, then it seems different than the other years of Savage. The pillon (passenger) seat bolted on the front and had two hard plastic tabs that slide under a metal tab (like this but this is upside down |_| )

Checked Ron Ayers and the picture of the mount looks the same across the years so I think it will fit. I hadn't really poked around Ron Ayers before...thanks for the idea. It was easy to use.

I've used them to order parts before and I'd bet they'd work for comparing between model years for compatibility too.
