Hi there....I have a chance to buy a memphis shades windshield. I was wondering what size your shield is. I saw the pics, and think it looks great.
The guy is holding it for me for 24 hours...... It is 17" high, by 22" wide.........I like the fat style, as I think it will protect me more, but I don't want one that is too tall, due to the fact that, one should be able to see over the shield.
I am about 5 foot 9........Hoping the 17" wont't be too tall.
It comes complete with mounting hardware, which I understand is sold seperatly from the company. It is mint condition (no scratches). He wants $125 Canadian, installed, which is about $100 U.S.........Does this sound like a good price?..............thanks......cheers..............
Michael
Michael, Mine is the Memphis Slims which is 18" wide and I have the shorter height which is 15" high. So yours would be 4" wider and 2" taller than mine.
I would guess that the 17" would be ok given your height, but the best way to figure out is to sit on your bike and have someone measure what would be a good height. You want the top of the windshield to reach between the tip and bridge of your nose. See
Buying a Windshield that Fits. My husband didn't do this and his windshield is too tall and he gets a lot of helmet buffeting...
The price is very good if it includes the quick mount hardware from Memphis Shades and if the hardware will fit your bike. The hardware is sturdy, easy to use, and not cheap. You will want to make sure that the hardware will fit your bike BTW. They make different hardware for different bikes. Go to:
http://www.memphisshades.com/fats_metric.shtml and you should be able to look up the hardware part number for your bike and for the bike the windshield is currently on to see if they are the same.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.
