i was thinking flat black with chrome accents and chrome decals. i saw a chopper that had the chrome design under flat paint. awesome look, but mighty expensive.
me, i'm on a budget.
You can stop the rust and touch it up (on a budget) with a small bottle of black auto paint from a place like Auto Zone. If you compare it to your bike you can get a close metallic match. The bottles have a small brush in the cap (like finger nail polish).
You'll need some 500, 1000, and 1500 grit wet sandpaper (cut in small squares), a bowl of water, masking tape, polishing compound, a light touch, and a couple hours work to make it look better. Also, get a small can of spray clear coat.
I had never done this before last winter when my spouse put a boo-boo on the side of her rear fender....actually it was a 1 1/2" GASH down to the metal . I thought about it awhile, and dived in. On my first try, I kinda made it a little worse, so I "regrouped" and started over. After my second try, you wouldn't know it was there if I didn't tell you.....
