Well, actually it was my SuperTrapp until I bought the Raask.  The Trapp sat around for a while before she wanted it installed on her bike....then it became her SuperTrapp.

Ah, the old 2 stroke triples....those were the days.  Almost an apples and oranges comparison with the thumper though.  Those were oil injection motors, right?  Were they rotary disk or reed valve engines.  I too remember the day of needles with slots for adjusting the height.

Weren't those triples known for the center cylinder running hotter than the outer 2?

The GT750 and the racing model TR were both piston ported, very small piston ports.

Yup the S-2 had dinky carbs & ports too. I opened the intakes up a little, but never got a set off bigger ones.
It was sort of the evil opposite of a Savage, ours make torque as soon as we crank em! Kawy bogged a bit then stood on it's hind legs. Shocked

Ate 750 hondas up.

I looked high and low for a Powrol big bore kit or some such for the Savage. No luck .
Reckon we ought a shift over to some other thread like "How to make my Savage faster" so as to cool off the Wizard of Aus?

I had a DT400 Yamaha.  Dual sport single.  It handled like a Buick in the woods, but it ate HDs red light to red light  8)

It also, had this funny habit of going super nova if you missed a shift to second.  Can you say, "red line"?
