carburetor adjustment
11/29/03 at 09:44:15

I am a new member and have just bought a 1996 savage.  The previous owner put on a supertrapp exhuast system and I think he made attempts to adjust the fuel/air screw.  What is it suppose to be set at one,one and a half or two turns?  How do I tell if it is at peak setting?  I have changed the plug twice because it is burning rich and I can't seem to get it right.  Please help.  ???

for what its worth,
take the bike to a good shop that has a dyno and knows about the savage.the only way to truely get all you can out of a bike especially after changing the exhaust is to have the carb reset and or needle changedand dyno run to be sure its not running too rich or to lean and to get all horses out of as you can.
