Best of luck! Ask away.
Where are you located?

I'm in ky. I figured changing the filters and spark would be a good start. Then the transmission and head.

If it doesn't run, changing oil is a waste. If you're going to have to take it apart to work on the transmission, the oil gets drained.

What is wrong with it?

If you aren’t really in love with the idea of trying to rebuild it while going through a divorce, I’d sell it for parts on eBay.  You’ll probably do very well.  Then get yourself a decent running bike with the proceeds.  Personally, I wouldn’t want to try to completely rebuild a bike especially while going through a divorce. But that’s just me.  Hope things work out for you.

Why was it taken apart?
Is the engine disassembled?

Why did you take the motorcycle this far apart?  Transmission trouble on the Savage is very rare.....unless you are DragBikeMike! ;)

I read your other posts - changing the oil and filters on a bike that is completely apart is probably not the best place to start.....assembly is the right path to follow.

We are willing to help - but there is not much we can do without knowing exactly what condition your motorcycle is currently in.  I am in northern KY and am really familiar with how a Savage comes apart and goes back together - but assembling/repairing a motorcycle that is completely apart can take a very long time....especially if the parts are removed and the bike is a "basket case".  In one post you stated you wanted to build a trike as you have trouble holding a bike up.....is repairing this motorcycle worthwhile if you won't be able to ride it?

Can you post some pictures of your project?

Dave

The plot thickens on those tranny woes brother Dave.  More to come.

I agree with Dave.  More info please.  Background, pictures, etc.  was the bike running?  Did you ever ride the bike?
