Title: Walkin Papers
Post by Ruttly on 02/04/23 at 09:26:20

Got my retirement papers just showed up. Got a folder with all the necessary docs ready to go. I’m lookin at the calendar , Maybe July , All my pensions are vested. Pick the day and then burn all my floaters , sick days , vacation, about six or seven weeks worth. I see about six or more tool boxes there , some retire and leave their tools behind. I’ll be takin mine home to clean and sell them.I have enough tools for working 2 jobs and enough to work on the side at home as well. So I’ll be having a garage sale(s) after I retire. Freedom is near.  ::)

Congratulations!

I have been retired 7 months, and I love it!  I get to fix my problems instead of everyone else's!

Today I cut air vents in a new windshield and got it mounted, then put Caswell fuel tank liner in the Trail 110 auxiliary fuel tank, took a nap, and then went out to dinner with friends.

When the growing season starts I will have less time to work in the garage - but for now I am in the garage every day working on something.

My wife and I were lucky enough to retire at 60, which was five years ago.  I am with you, Dave - loving retirement!!  I work on what I want, when I want, and I am the only one I have to answer to.   8-)

One of the problems that I had with a job.....is that when the "good" days came along for doing the outdoor work at home - I had to go to work.  Now when the days come along that are good for cutting firewood, mowing the grass, scrubbing the buildings, etc. - I can "Get'r Done".  When the bad weather days are here - I can hide out in the garage and get those things done.

And.....when the good riding days come along - I can ignore the work! :)

That’s not much of a diet for a retired person.
I would rethink that.
Yep.

When I retired (2012), Sunday evening instantly became my favorite time of the week-- because I would say to myself, "Hey, I don't have to go to work in the morning." I still feel that way.

That will be another of many stops. I have family in Ohio & Florida.  Friends all over the lower 48 and I would love to stop and have coffee with everyone. As of yet it’s just a dream , pre planning stages , if I can make it happen you’ll all see it posted here. It hella exciting just thinking about it. In my eyes an invite is golden to me , Thank you guys.

Well if you are going to Ohio.....you can drop a bit south in KY - I am right across the river from Cincinnati.

Start worrying when I start collecting phone numbers and addresses. Family in Ohio in Youngstown/Boardman area. They all might be dead but don’t worry Dave I’ll still come for a visit & coffee. I’ll give you some time to get your new piston & exhaust done. Can’t have any excuses can we.  8-)

I grew up in that area....Winona.

If you can't make it to KY I can come up to that area to visit......my sister still lives in Salem.

Dave I was serious I don’t think anyone I was related to has either moved away or passed  and my father took all that with him when he passed. Relaxe do you think I would skip an opportunity to ride with Super Dave do ya. My sister says maybe some in Oregon/ Washington but that was 20 years ago,not very promising. Like I said sooner or later , the planets will align for us and hopefully as a group. Are you familiar with fssnoc , ok here we go , four stroke singles national owners club. A group I watch but I’m not a member they have two or three rides a year east & west rides in different locations every year so more can attend a ride. We could do that too  and maybe a east meets west at Pikes Peak , oh yeah I could scratch 2 at once off the old bucket list and go to jail for racing on the PEAK all in a day.
Never stop dreaming !!! It could happen
