Title: New user
Post by Plymark on 01/03/23 at 13:01:49

Hi All,

I'm new here and there is a wealth of information. The the pop up adds though......I've never seen anything close to this bad. Also, I'm seeing a 'Donate' button. How much to I have to 'Donate' to get rid of the crappity smacking pop-ups? I'm guessing this is American hosted?

get adblock and you'll get rid of the popups

donate will not do it

I believe it is american hosted, but I don't know.

This site is being maintained by someone who is no longer interested in the Suzuki Savage as far as I can tell.  The revenue provided by the popup ads and donations seems to be keeping it alive.

I'm grateful that we still have the forum so I'll take with the ads.

I've been here for 10-12 years and have only seen 1 ad for the goofy T-shirts! This is the cleanest looking forum on the 'net! A pleasure
to be here!
Cheers!  8-)

If you click on the ads , it helps him sell them. You don’t have to buy anything , just shop & bail. The more lookers the easier it is to sell ad space.
Spend a minute click on a ad.

Ruttly is correct, there is ad revenue for this forum, at no cost to us, by simply clicking ads and going to the site for a few minutes.

They track ad clicks, and the progress through the associated website, so clicking and closing doesn't help much as the metric would show time spent at their website from the Suzukisavage forum to only be a second or two.  This is not worth paying for.

OK , I'm looking for an "add" to click on but don't have any !  :-[ :-[ :-[

I have donated several times over the 20 years I've been a regular visitor .   I don't have a LS650 any longer but I've meet some good people here and like to keep in touch !   :)

MM , You shouldn’t have to own a Savage to be here. I figure as long as one keeps up on their act right pills they should be welcome here. No pills needed for MM , a well respected member for sure !

Thank youRuttly

I should catch-up on my reading more ...  :-[  so embarrassed

I find myself interested in more MPG  now and power don't seem to matter so much (like it used too) !

Maybe , now that my hair is going CHROME it don't burn as HOT ?  ;D

My attempts at a Savage replacement that gets Great mpg ,
The latest one is a single but the power level has left me wanting a little more.   The Meteor is only 350cc w/20.?-foot/lbs (30% less the the Savage).   B&S = 72/86mm single cylinder - super heavy flywheel , it feels good till a    l-o-n-g    hill  leaves it gasping for breath ! .
Now there is a "Super Meteor" available ... I understand it's motor has been getting 70's ish mpg (650cc twin) ?

I'm seeing a second attempt in my near future.

I knew it wouldn’t be long after New Years that MM would announce his new bike for the year. I haven’t seen one yet but I was thinking a better bike for MM. All the RE bikes look like fun to own smiles per mile bikes.

Maybe this is a topic for a new thread.....I can see it not having a short or easy solution.

The Super Meteor is a premium cruiser model of the Continental GT.....it is more properly a replacement for your Moto Guzzi than your little Meteor 350.  The Super Meteor weighs 536 pounds........100 pounds more than your Moto Guzzi!

Here is a link  to the "Fuely" mileage for the Interceptor 650...same engine as will be in the Super Meteor.  Most folks get around 60mpg with that engine.  One fellow shows 79mpg average - but there must be a math error - when you look at each tank the mileage average is down in the 60's.

Might be heat, but could be more polish.   8-)

A clean and smooth surface has less wind resistance than a dirty surface, especially as you approach the speed of sound.  Though that kind of speed is less likely to be encountered on a bike than in a jet aircraft, it may still make a difference on a bike.  At least that’s my story today.
