Title: How to check rear brakes?
Post by och on 11/13/22 at 20:18:30

Guys, sorry for a dumb question, but how do you go about checking the rear brake wear? It is easy to check the front disk brake pads, but no so obvious with the drums that are contained in a case. I ride in NYC with a lot of stop and go traffic, so I tend to use the rear brake a lot, and want to make sure its in good condition.

On the hub where the arm is located is a pointer and engraved marking, should be self evident.

On the front pads, take a look at them and you'll see a groove in the middle.
If you can't see a groove then it's time to replace.

Do you need to remove anything to see the pointer on the hub?
