Title: Sidecar Post by Brandon4d on 06/21/22 at 21:03:44 Anyone rocking a sidecar? If so how's the handling? What brand are you rocking? |
Title: Re: Sidecar Post by TheSneeze on 06/21/22 at 21:39:31 You should probably look for a bike with more power before trying a sidecar. Just my opinion... |
Title: Re: Sidecar Post by wheelbender6 on 06/22/22 at 06:42:19 Agree. Side cars are pretty heavy and create more frontal drag. They are much more fun if you have a bike that has a bigger engine with more cylinders. Those Ural motorcycles with factory side cars only do 60 mph or so. |
Title: Re: Sidecar Post by Gary_in_NJ on 06/22/22 at 07:13:36 I seem to remember a member or two who have done this, maybe 7 years ago. Do a search on the site. |
Title: Re: Sidecar Post by Smith2 on 06/22/22 at 07:31:10 Urals turn 41 hp and only have 4 gears. It's a 750cc. I think an s40 could do it but it wouldn't be ideal unless you are a good mechanic. |
Title: Re: Sidecar Post by Brandon4d on 06/22/22 at 07:58:15 I do agree that it would be hard hitting those interstates. Shoot my bike does like anything over 80 as is haha. The sidecar, I would imagine, would be a grocery getter. Load the wife up and do 35-50 mph only. Aka sideroads |
Title: Re: Sidecar Post by wheelbender6 on 06/22/22 at 18:47:14 You need to know how to make these for your sidecar passenger. |
Title: Re: Sidecar Post by och on 06/23/22 at 17:37:17 There are actually a bunch of photos on google if you search savage sidecar. |

Brandon, search on here for it, there was a guy on here a couple years ago who set one up. You’ll want a light sidecar like a velorex or the ones sold by Cycle Sidecar (Indian-made replicas of old Steib designs). https://www.cyclesidecar.com/ https://velorexusa.com/ I hope this helps! |
