Title: Superbrace installed
Post by och on 03/14/22 at 19:41:45

Purchased the Superbrace fork brace, and got it installed. This is a super easy install, only takes about 10 minutes. Not sure if it does anything, but it looks kind of nice. I cheaped out and did not buy the chrome fork protectors, I guess I'll have to purchase them at a later time.

I think they affect handling positively.
Other people have disagreed.

I bought the Superbrace in black for my Street Tracker.  I am a fan of fork braces - I ran them on my track bike back in the '80's.

I loosened it during install, and then tightened it back up, as instructed. Not sure it was necessary.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the pinch bolt can be tightened while the forks are misaligned, making the brace not fit perfectly.

Well thats why you get the bike as vertical as possible, and then the brace kind of doubles up on aligning the forks anyway. I think the only reason to loosen the bolt, is if it is misaligned to begin with, and the brace either spreads the forks further apart, or pulls them closer together.

That is kinda what I was trying to say.
Took me a fine wrestling match to get mine on the 05.
I got one some machinist built in his spare time. He has retired.
Just glad it wasn't on the bike when I crashed.
They aren't nearly as slick and pretty as the Super brace, but I like them.

I like to looks of those highway/passing lights.  Mind telling where you got them?  Thanks!

I installed a brace on a bike with extended forks, which really helped.  On stock forks I suppose they help also, but probably not noticeable, unless you ride 'hard and fast.'  Antisieze?  Every time I use it, I get it all over!

They are Show Chrome 16-39 LED buckets, I made custom mounts for them.
