Title: 1989 Suzuki Savage ls650
Post by PureAnx13ty on 10/14/21 at 20:32:29

I believe its ls650P with 22,400km

New:
Starter solenoid
Battery
Sparkplug
Exhause gasket
Van Hines exhaust
Raptor Petcock valve
Oil/filter changer

The problem I am having is that I took it out today 10/14/2021 and filled it with fuel and checked the oil level (good) Rode it back home about 5km and it died entering my parking lot. It was slightly draining too. Could it be that I need to replace the Ignition coil or am I having another problem with the wiring. Please help this bike has been a big stress because I cant enjoy it. Thank you for reading and responding

Also when i replaced the sparkplug it was rich. I looked online for more info and there is a fuel screw adjustment. What is the right spec for the screw?

I don't see why you would jump to the conclusion that the coil has failed. I would start with the basics. Since you have your spark plug out, check to see if it sparks when grounded to the cylinder head. If you have spark, then you'll need to explore the fuel system.

You mentioned that this happen just after getting fuel. Smell the fuel to determine if it smells like diesel. Perhaps the gas station has a mis-fueling problem.

The clear tube that is attached to the front right side of the carb......where is the other end of that tube connected?
