Title: Yikes Guys! Post by buster6315 on 09/11/21 at 21:30:05 While working on (installing) an upper belt guard on my 2008 S40, I noticed what looked kinda like an open battery box beneath the frame. Of course I realize the battery is located above near the carb. I wonder what this structure could be? |

Title: Re: Yikes Guys! Post by Hiko on 09/11/21 at 23:52:12 I am thinking I may use it to mount a center stand if I ever get around to it |
Title: Re: Yikes Guys! Post by Madgrinders on 09/12/21 at 02:52:54 I’ve used it to mount lithium batteries there on two separate savages. Perfect spot if you like that “open” look. |
Title: Re: Yikes Guys! Post by buster6315 on 09/12/21 at 06:23:25 I had a S83 some years ago, and I think the battery was mounted down there. |
Title: Re: Yikes Guys! Post by verslagen1 on 09/12/21 at 07:23:10 It's for mounting the california carbon cannister. EPA mandated BS. HD's have a round thermos looking thing on the side of the bike near the same location... so count your lucky stars suzuki was able to hide it away. |
Title: Re: Yikes Guys! Post by Ruttly on 09/12/21 at 11:54:12 Doesn’t it help support stock exhaust too ? |
Title: Re: Yikes Guys! Post by Madgrinders on 09/12/21 at 12:49:31 They all have the bracket, (calif has the emissions attached to it as well) and yes it supports the exhaust. |
