Title: Jet kit for stock carb Post by wiguzziman on 07/24/21 at 08:06:09 Question for LANCER: I'm new to this forum and because of that I'm unable to PM you. I have a 1996 LS650 Savage that has the stock air box the stock 40mm carb, and a SuperTrapp muffler with about 10 to 12 disks in it. Bike seems to run OK, but backfires like crazy on the over run. I've just removed the brass plug so I can adjust the mixture screw. Anyway, do you offer a carb jet kit to upgrade my 96 Savage carb? Thanks for your time and response!! ;). wiguzziman |

Title: Re: Jet kit for stock carb Post by Jayhob on 07/25/21 at 04:59:13 Hey wiguzziman, how do you like the supertrapp? I'm thinking of getting one. Is it worth the $600? |
Title: Re: Jet kit for stock carb Post by wiguzziman on 07/25/21 at 05:14:07 Hi Jayhob, Don't really have anything to compare the Supertrapp to, as it was on the bike when I bought it. I like the sound level (it has 10 or 12 disks at present). I'm in the process of re-jetting the stock carb as I suspect like so many Savages, someone just put the Supertrapp on and never re-jetted the carb (brass plug was still in place over the idle misture screw!). I'm a bit of a Scrooge; don't think I'd spent $600.00 for ANY motorcycle muffler!! ;D. wiguzziman |
