Title: Why
Post by MnSpring on 07/11/21 at 08:07:36

Just one of the reasons CNN is called,
CHICKEN, Noode News !!!!!

Their recent, ‘report’ on Branson.
       (pure opinion/editorial,
            disguised as, 'news')

“The rocket motor could fail to light up …”
“The cabin could lose pressure …”

What steller 'reporting' information.
Typical of a UL, DFI, FDS, Socialist Propaganda spreader.

If you are referring to this:

https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/07/tech/richard-branson-space-flight-risk-scn/index.html

I don't see the issue.  Is anyone saying it could not fail to light up?  The article doesn't, to me, appear that CNN claims any of these things will happen, or not happen or even present a probability.  It is in their "Business" news section and I feel that is appropriate since Virgin is a business.

My understanding is that "Editorial" information is a subset of "Reporting".  As in "News" programs "Report" things, one of them categorized as "Editorial".  So a "News" "Network" is not isolated exclusively to "Reporting" only "Current Events", they might also "Report" the "Weather" as a subset of the "News" within their "Network" of "Reporting" and also provide an "Editorial" on climate change.

I do agree with MnSpring that CNN is definitely more opinion than straight fact reporting as FOX did here:

Of course not.

Just because the HEADLINE says:
"Richard Branson
is taking a big risk going to space"

And first paragraph says;
"That's if everything goes according to plan"
"And there's plenty that could go wrong"

"The rocket motor could fail to light up.
The cabin could lose pressure and threaten the passengers' lives.
And the intense physics involved
when hurtling out of — and back into — the Earth's atmosphere,
could tear the vehicle apart"

"Golly Gee Wally, saure doze saund like, dat dare chickennoodelnews was presenting, the possibility of failure !!!!!!"

 I said probability, not possibility.

They do not claim to outline a probability of failure.  FOX interviewed an astronaut that indicated that failure could happen.

In any case, as you stated, this is an opinion piece.  So I would consider it a subset of the news network's overall reporting.  Not a factual report of actual events, since the article preceded the event.
