I understand there is an element of our federal government that wants to do away with gasoline altogether and go all electric  .    :)

No friends of mine , but they are there !    ::)

Its just a matter of time.  ,   You do still have the 2.7 gal tank ?

The Moto Guzzi has a 5.8 gal tank , ... that would  $30. + for a fill up on a motorcycle  !  :-[

$30 used to fill my car, now it's double.
Fortunately, I own stock in small/med oil producers, to help mitigate my riding cost.
Cheers!  8-)

You should try New Zealand, about$US9-9.50 per USgallon.

Wow !   $9.50 / US-gal.  gas !!  :-/

If gas was $9.50 a gal in the us , I'd have to drive a Toyota hybrid and get 50 mpg.  and my choice of Motorcycle might have to change also ???   All of a sudden a 90 mpg 250cc twin or a Royal Enfield 350/Honda 350 single would look perty good !  ;)

Really though , I don't want to pay more than I have to ... but ... I can't help but know it would be good for the earth if we all had to pay $9.50 a gal.   My Chevy Colorado only gets 27 mpg ... it would spend a lot of time in "Time-Out"

I have got almost 60mpg out of my LS650 but I have to drive it like its the  Colorado getting 27 mpg .   ;D

Wow Zipi, that is awful! I've been thinking of getting a pickup but with gas prices going up it is hard to justify getting rid of my 2019 Jetta that averages 40 mpg and gives me about 45 mpg when just highway driving.

Don't worry MM, the ECOSTAPO and their obsession with EV's are alive and well in the NZ government. They are brining in a UTE/ PICKUP tax and offering subsidies for EV's, most New Zealander can't afford new EV's, paticularly Teslas, which will be mainly brought by well heeled businuss people who can write them off to tax anyway. The second hand Japanese imports we get here have used half to two thirds their battery life by the time we get them.

So !    ::)

Springman , how much do you need to get for your Jetta ?

and

How hard would it be to make it into a pick-up truck ?   ;D   Not Really !

That brings up the question ... why don't somebody make a truck that get 40mpg ?

Of all the people I know who drive PU's for transportation , 90% of them only haul stuff  one mile out of 99 miles they drive.

Oh No ,

I want a new affordable   RabbitDiesel

............

The Chevy Colorado does come in Diesel , but it is not affordable  ($45K) for the diesel in the model I've got , but it does get really good MPG numbers.   No I don't have the diesel.
