Title: Battery box and tool cover
Post by Dave on 03/14/21 at 05:12:30

I have two nice battery boxes, and also tool box covers.

Both battery boxes are rust free - the one has a decomposed foam cushion and glue that makes it look much worse than it really is.  The nicer one has fresh looking paint on the black clamp that holds the batter in...the other one the paint is a bit faded.  The price is $20 for the better one and $15 for the dirtier one......you pay shipping.

The tool box covers are also available.  One is very nice and still has the rubber cushion on the back and the spare fuses inside.  The other one does not have the rubber cushion anymore (most don't as those fall off easily), and it has some surface rust on the back (very common).  The locks are included - you can take them apart and move the tumblers around to get it to fit your key.   The price is $40 for the nicer one and $30 for the other one....you pay shipping.

Two different key configurations - the first buyer gets his choice, the second gets what is left.

I am currently in Texas and will be returning next week.

We can get the deal done when I return.

I have responded to your email.

Whomever gets the rusty cover, go get a cheap bottle of deck cleaner from the hardware store that has the highest concentration of oxalic acid in it.  Fill up the cover with the liquid and let it sit for a few hours, maybe even overnight. The oxalic acid will eat the rust (won't remove pitting) and doesn't damage the chrome. I use this technique on a lot of chrome parts.

Hey Dave, not sure if these have been sold yet but if not I'd be glad to take a tool box cover off your hands. Being as I don't currently have one on min bike it be nice to see it looking complete again. ;D

I still have one of each (battery box and tool box cover).  The second fellow that contacted me never followed through with the purchase.

Let me know which part you want I still have the $15 battery box and the $30 tool cover.

Dave are these still available? I would take both if so.  I am in Hutchinson KS.  I have pay-pal or venmo for payment if either of those work for you.
