Title: RH Crankcase Bolt Post by baldybiker on 01/24/21 at 11:16:25 some of us are having trouble working out what this bolt is and what it's torque setting is. It doesn't seem to appear in the manual. It's at the front right of crankcase. |
Title: Re: RH Crankcase Bolt Post by DragBikeMike on 01/24/21 at 12:26:08 That's a drain plug. It drains the filter housing. There is a crush-washer under the head of the plug. The factory tech manual identifies it as an "oil gallery plug" and the torque table lists a 10mm plug, but in actuality the plug in the picture is 12mm. To be safe, I wouldn't exceed 13 foot-lbs. Note that the all-inclusive Clymer manual has the same error regarding plug size. Nice polish on that clutch cover. 8-) |

Title: Re: RH Crankcase Bolt Post by baldybiker on 01/24/21 at 14:43:17 I can’t take credit for the shiny case, it’s not my bike. We have a small group over here in the UK. Savages are few and far between. Still small but slowly growing. :) |

No. it's hard to get out and very little is going to come out especially if you do a filter change. |
