Title: Hyper Flashing
Post by gtenginerd on 11/16/20 at 20:14:17

I bought this after replacing turn signals with LEDs.

But it's not the same connector. Does anyone know a version that is the same connector, or an adapter, or a simpler solution?

Maybe I didn't explain thoroughly...
:-?

I'd rather not cut off the existing connector at this point. Is there a solution to avoid that?

gtenginerd , hind-sight is always 20-20 ,  ::) don't ask !  :-[

Do you know how to remove the female wire termals from the plastic holder that came with you bike ?

clue :
It involves a small wire or safty pin ... opened up

;)

no cutting envolved ...  and  ...  you can put the termals back into the plastic later if you want  :)
............................

Ok , another clue :

put the small screwdriver/wire/strait pin / what ever - in beside the termal on the side with the spur/knotch/ , the other side will be flat.    Then the wire/w/termal attached will pull out the back side to be clear of the plastic holder.   Then you can see the little spur that holds them in place.   8-)

puting a small amount of inward presure on the wire will help get the spur to release , holding the spur down and gently pull the wire out , easy pea-sey.
.............................................

OK , last clue :

put the empty plastic holder back on the original blinker unit just like it was ... so you can find it ... if you ever need it for anything.

Thanks, I'm gonna give this a try. Will report back.

Edit: See below. I was able to get the pins out, but didn't have the right connectors.

I ended up cutting them since I had my solder stuff out and the blade connectors I needed. Put heat shrink on after the pic and it's working just fine.

Looks good.....and likely will outlast the bike!

I've ordered some LED-FLASHER units (slow boat from China) to fit on another bike (W-650).   So , I'll ask ... Did the new flasher fix the problem ?  :-?
