Title: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by DragBikeMike on 10/25/20 at 17:02:41 Kamelryttarn was kind enough to send me a sample of his new multi-function tool. It’s a clutch hub holder, flywheel holder, and steering stem spanner all wrapped up into one easy-to-use tool. |

Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by DragBikeMike on 10/25/20 at 17:07:34 It fits the clutch hub perfectly. You use the two spacer plates to provide enough stand-off from the basket; and the hole in the center of the tool provides ample clearance for the socket. I locked up the output pulley, put the trans in 5th, and reefed on that wrench pretty darned hard. It’s got a solid grip on the clutch hub. Should make clutch removal a walk in the park. |
Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by DragBikeMike on 10/25/20 at 17:08:41 The flywheel holder also fits perfectly. You need some spacers as shown in the picture (two stacks of washers should suffice) and a couple of 8mm bolts. A 46mm socket fits through the hole with a little room to spare. Once the tool is installed it will make short work of removal and reinstallation. Torqueing the nut will be a breeze with this tool. |
Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by DragBikeMike on 10/25/20 at 17:09:23 The spanner fits the steering stem nut like a glove. No more hammer & punch. I can work like a professional now. |
Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by DragBikeMike on 10/25/20 at 17:10:31 A BIG shoutout to Kamelryttarn. I love this thing. It was a great idea to incorporate a variety of functions into one really-cool multi-tool. 8-) |

Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by kamelryttarn on 10/26/20 at 01:58:26 Thank you all so much for your kind words. It feels good to be able to contribute despite the fact that I have never worked on a combustion engine before. I will post the DXF-files in this thread as well as my original thread. The distance needed for the clutch spacer is just under 10mm so if you cut the tool in a 5mm thick sheet you need two of them. |

Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by jcstokes on 10/27/20 at 15:04:08 How much would these be if a small run was made? DXF files don't seem to work on my computer and could these things be laser or water cut? |
Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by SpamyToo on 10/27/20 at 21:24:03 I can see about making up a few. Steel or Stainless wrench part. Aluminum 10mm spacer. 2 Aluminum standoffs - How long would these need be to clear the ridge of the flywheel? Maybe include a fork tool in the mix. Actually I was going to make one for myself with an added section to use on the timing inspection cover and the top fork nut. Its a pain to put that nut back on with the extra tension of the spring spacer. Maybe using this will be easier to control getting the first few threads going. |

They can be cut by pretty much any technology. Water, Laser, EDM... I think DragBikeMike wrote that the standoffs had to be 38mm high for the flywheel |
Title: Re: Really-Cool Multi-Tool Post by SpamyToo on 11/06/20 at 20:47:34 For a small run Im currently looking at $70 a set. That would be, 1 - Zinc Plated Tool steel Clutch Tool 1 - 10mm aluminum spacer 2 - 38mm 8mm bolt spacers 2 - 8mm bolts 4 - 6mm bolts Im looking at some other options to see if I can get the price down. |
