hello to all, I was wondering if any fellow Floridians care to share their carburetor adjustments and jetting ;)

currently running 50 pilot 150 main and the raptor petcock. It has helped the popping quite a bit but i still get a little if i close the throttle all the way. i have not done the white spacer mod yet, but ill get there.

With the stock airbox and filter....and a muffler with a baffler system (stock, DYNA or similar) - a #150 main and a #50 pilot is likely fine (a #52.5 pilot may work as well).

The spacer mod to raise the needle makes the most improvement in the partial throttle smoothness. If you get a surging where the bike pulls unevenly at low throttle settings (like riding through a school zone), then you need to modify the needle spacer. Three machine screw washers are the suggested fix - for some reason my bike still has a bit of surging and removing one washer and running just two fixed it.

You don't want to install too big of jets or raise the needle too much and make the engine run rich. A rich mixture makes the bike sluggish, carbons up the engine, and uses too much fuel.

FL??? High humidity and high temps??? I would think the stock jetting would be fine if not rich.

I'm in Longisland NY, same altitude as Florida
I tried 50 pilot and it was too lean
With a pod filter I need a 55 pilot but it made the bike eat gas like crazy
52.5 pilot and a 152.5 main and 3 #4 washers works perfect with any aftermarket muffler

AHH!! I didn't notice the reply until I got an email, thank you all for responding. as to the question I posted I was curious as I recently started to delve into the posts about carburetor tuning & Problem solving and just wanted to see what people were running and performing.

I'm currently rocking the original carburetor with a pod filter

My bike wouldn't run right with a 52.5 pilot and a pod filter.
Make sure your pod filter doesn't block the carb port

This is HIGHLY unlikely. From Mikuni's webpage on tuning...

"The pilot circuit has one replaceable part and one adjustable part. The pilot jet is replaceable and the pilot air screw is adjustable. If the jet is too large or the air screw is in too far, the air/fuel mixture may be too rich. However, it is very unlikely that the pilot jets installed at the Mikuni factory can cause a dramatic loss of fuel economy. "

The needle and main can have an effect on mileage, but even so - you jet the carb for throttle response, not for fuel mileage.
