Title: Re: My Savage build Post by ohiomoto on 05/11/20 at 20:06:14 Not a Ninja frame and definitely not Martin's first rodeo. Hand built frame, fenders hand shaped on a tree, a cool KTM build...check out instagram links for more. |

Title: Re: My Savage build Post by srinath on 05/12/20 at 07:20:56 What's the headlight mounted to - it looks like a Honda Fury one. And you plan to hand make/fit a tank for it ? I find in some cases to build a frame around a tank/motor combo. Like your lower triple was modded to fit that headlight. I'd have made the trellis frame to fit say a GSXR or a monster or whatever tank that has the perimeter frame. Of course the motor is narrow, these tanks are much wider than the motor and would dwarf it aesthetically. Cool. Srinath. |

The head light is a cheap universal headlight from Ebay, I might change it, not sure I like it, it is mounted to a bracket that I fabricated. I have not modified the bottom yoke. The yokes are standard Triumph Street Triple. The frame has been designed to be strong and light I will make a tank to fit, I have not decided what it will look like yet, or what I hope it will look like. This will be my second attempt at aluminium petrol tank fabrication so hopefully will be a little better than the first. |

Title: Re: My Savage build Post by martin jarvis on 06/07/20 at 04:10:46 It's Alive. Finished welding the mounts and pressure testing the petrol tank but had no fuel line so had to fill the carb up with a syringe. But it started even ticked over. Really quite surprised as the carb is a Mikuni flat slide jetted for a Buell. https://www.instagram.com/p/CBA7aTSAL-C/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet |
Title: Re: My Savage build Post by srinath on 06/07/20 at 05:14:28 What tank do you plan to use ? I would have picked the tank and built my frame to the tank - but of course I think an English wheel is what they use on wheel of fortune and a planishing hammer is used to punish sinners in the middle ages. I'd have in fact hacked a frame section and tank going to that frame like maybe a Monster 900 and used that whole kit and Kaboodle. But again - no where near your skills. Good luck with the build and ride. Watching it eagerly. Cool. Srinath. |

Title: Re: My Savage build Post by ohiomoto on 08/15/20 at 04:40:48 Martin had no problem building this bike. I've been following along on Instagram and the bike was "finished" weeks ago. |
