I  believe you are going to have trouble finding much of a selection in a 15" diameter rear tire.

I have an 18" rear wheel on my Cafe' conversion.  The narrowest tire I have run is a 110/80=18, and it worked just fine on the limited HP and relatively light weight Savage.  It looked skinny as we are used to much wider tires on modern bikes - but the Norton's and Triuimphs and BMW's in the 60's/70's had tires this width and twice the HP of the Savage.  The bike never suffered any traction of durability issues with this tire.

Dave,

With the cafe configuration we are able to get away with a narrower tire because of the reduced weight (~300 lbs) and because of the weight shift forward. I don't think I'd want to run a mostly stock Savage with a tire less than 130/90-15. Going to a 120 or lower will have a reduced ride height, further sending weight to the rear.

Griffs - I applaud you for fighting the trend (and urge) to go big. A narrower tire leans faster and is more fun to ride. But it does look dorky.

120/90-16 on cast wheel works a treat and doesn't look bad either !
Cheers! 8-)

Will this tire fit the rear wheel of a Suzuli S40 Boulevard 2007 , with stock 15" wheel?

I have one on my 06'. BUT... it is for a 16" rim not the stock 15". It WILL NOT fit on a stock rim. It is also a ''tube type'' tire, meaning if you went to cast wheels to run tubeless, you still must run a tube with this tire. I am running the stock 15'' tube in it on a 16" rim and works fine.
It is a ''old school'' style tire and cruises fine, but if you like to corner hard and drag your pegs, you won't be happy with it.

My cast rear wheel is off a gs550, slips right on, no sweat. Haven't figured out yet how to adapt the stock brake to the front cast wheel. One tube is better than 2 tubes!
Cheers!  8-)

No - You need a tire that fits a 15" wheel.
