as someone who lives alone since my wife died, out of curiosity I dated a 24 pack of TP,
took 3 months to the day to use up the pack.
ps: "dated' used in the numerical sense !

We check on the father in law several times a week at least. A couple days ago he called and told us he needed toilet paper. Fer cry'n out loud pops! You may as well ask for hens teeth! Gave him some of ours. Now we'll probably run out as well. LOL!

There are 2 kinds of people. Those who fold their toilet paper and those that just wad it up ! Which are you ?

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

We are country of pampered wusses when the first commodity to be claimed by a panicked population is toilet paper. If I only knew that a year ago I could have been buying low and selling high making my fortune. I could make enough cash to run for president. Of course I would be applying special discounts for SS members and for all others a discount for your VOTE !

Trump wouldn't stand a chance !

Then take over some small country a dedicate the population to manufacturing toilet paper and soon I'll

RULE THE WORLD !

Well Ruttly, you could take over New Zealand, population less than five million, relatively civilised, still has paper manufacturing capacity, frieght costs mighty be disadvantageous.

Post by Ruttly on 03/21/20 at 16:04:48

Yeah , but look at how many more jobs I would create. I'll just have to own a shipping company too.

So be it , New Zealand it is !

JC will be King

Fold , 2 or 3 sheets seem to work just fine .    Five weeks ago I put bidets in both bathroom .    Now  the paper just sits there !    ;)

Its so just much cleaner , wiping seems so  ... nasty ... now !

I have a question.
Why in the US are bidets not popular? It is after all another gadget for us to embrace like we do everything else. it is not as they say, rocket science. ;)

Title: Re: solve the T/P shortage

Because somewhere in Washington DC is a very powerful man who makes
toilet paper ! And I bet he is laughing his as$ off and wiping his as$ with our money.

I'll bet your right Ruttly .

I have wondered :  Why my parents didn't discover the Bidet long ago and then I would have grew up knowing better than paper , and , just think of how much $$$ 60 years of paper cost ???  All the new bikes I could have had ... just wasted its so sad !!! $$$ !
:-?

I've never understood how you're supposed to solve that whole
Now I have a wetASS problem..

Now I have a wetASS problem..

Your talking about a small patch of wet skin not measurable water  , your not looking at a problem.   If ya got $$$ then  hair  rear dryers are built in.   Remember , the biggest part of the world has also gone metric .   ;)

Why not here?

I don't like bidets. I travel (well...not now) to countries where bidets are prominent but I can never pull myself to use them. I feel like just squirting my butt and getting up and leaving will just leave me walking around with soggy doo doo in my crack  :-? :-?

In India there is never TP in public restrooms, just bidets, so I carry toilet wipes with me. China had TP in some places, but you have to carry wipes there too...just in case.  Most of the toilets in China are also the squatty holes in the floor but Universities where I go usually have at least 1 western toilet.I tried, but just can't do the squatty hole.either.

Stew , try the water pick ... you won't have to worry about whats left back there you'll be more concerned about what used to be there !   ;D

Mine water valve is adjustable for pressure .   Little or as much as you want ?    Some of them have warm and cold with built in dryers .  In the USA we've been so deprived for so long !
...............................

I can't picture how the Squatti Hole could work ???   :-?
................................

When I was a 2nd grader I lived with my grandparents for a year (1959-1960) .   They didn't have running water or electricity , but they did have magazines in the out house with the slick paper.  The mail man just kept bring more all the time --- even in 1959 !
Once a week (Tuesday , I think) the traveling store guy would come around in his old 1 ton truck selling coal-oil , sugar , coffee and such.  Granny would trade eggs for her stuff she wanted.  Hard to believe but its 100% true.  1959-1960 rural Tn.  :)   Wood cook stove and all , they thought it was normal ...
......................

Come to think about it ... one Sunday News Paper could solve the T/P problem for a month !
but
I wouldn't flush the shinny paper !   :-?

I heard a story that that's why the Sears catalog used glossy paper in its early years...so people wouldn't get free copies just to wipe with.

Not sure if that is true.

I always prefered JC Whitney catalog but Sears or Montgomery Wards will do !

Title: Re: solve the T/P shortage

Americans, google up "The Specialist" by Charles Sale.

Title: Re: solve the T/P shortage
Post by MMRanch on 03/23/20 at 07:30:05

Oh no Stew ,   ....    The shinny paper is better , but for the same reason you shouldn't flush it.   It don't soak up moister or fall apart when wet .   Dropping it down the hole in the ground don't matter but I suspect its not biodegradable  approved.

Its just human nature to looked at the catalog while having a seat , and if ya found a page you didn't want to be used ... then you fold one corner over on it ...so no one else will use that page either .  (don't ask how I found this out)    Life used to be so different !

The Specialist

Its a movie about a wrongful death and revenge pertaining to said wrongful death.    The getting out of hand thing ... I might have to see if its on Netflix ?

What happened?
A bidet went wild and gave someone a fatal, supercharged enema?
Not sure I understand the movie reference here..
I'll be pondering that
Next time I'm folding my three squares...

Not the same

Quote:
In 1929, inspired by a carpenter named 'Lem Putt' from his hometown of Urbana, Sale wrote The Specialist, a play about an outhouse builder.[4] Because copyright infringement was widespread in Vaudeville, Sale enlisted the aid of two newspapermen to adapt The Specialist into a book. This enjoyed great success, and Sale spent the next several months responding to fan mail.

So get the book.

"The Specialist" was written by Charles Sale in 1929 or '30. It is the story of Lem Putt, the champion privy builder of Sangamon County, somewhere in the USA. Putt was at some stage going to complain to "Mr Sears Roebuck hisself" about thick cardboard pages in his catalogue. He also knew that, "if you placed the catalogue in the privy in January, you should be through to the harness section by June". He also advised to "dig her wide and dig her deep" to avoid re digging. If google isn't working, try putting "The specialist by Charles Sale" into You Tube, where you can hear the story narrated.

Solve the TP crisis, wash your A$$ with hot water. Most Injuns know to do this, and do it with cold water, so ha. Already solved. More crap (metaphor) that we never ever would have had to deal with without stupid libtards.

Yea yea yea you need softer TP so your ass wont hurt as much …
We clean our A$$ with cold water …
If its not available, we clean it with a leaf.
If that's not available, we clean with newspaper.

Recycling at its finest, deal with it dumBa$$ libtards.

Cool.

I spent a lot of time abroad and one thing about bidets I always used toilet paper. So they are just an extra step but don't save anything. A person is certainly cleaner. :)

We have a bidet in one house, and a sprayer in the other house. I hate the sprayer, its cold as duck … but Injun style is water and hand - use your imagination. But, TP is optional in any case. Of late I have been using paper towel and throwing it in the trash. I also have used a towel and washing them.
Remember all the shiitee is gone by bidet or water and hand. You wash your hand after so its clean too. BTW you will soon regret having clumsy fingernails and we only use left hand - which is why Injuns get really mad when they see a person use their left hand to do things. Even if they are left handed. LOL.
Girls who are left handed get looked down upon when it comes time to getting married. My Maternal uncles wife was a leftie from a very very religious and superstitious family, and it was my grandpa's broad minded ness that welcomed her as his son's bride. LOL - I love that lady, she's awesome, so are her 2 kids - 1 leftie and they have been caring for my mom so well. They're better than my uncle (bless his soul - been dead 2yrs). Anyway, practice washing your a$$ with warm water and drying ti with paper or cloth towel. Trust me, you'd never go back. TP is a stupid invention.

Cool.
Srinath.

True , I had no idea what I had been missing out on.   I saw the Clear-rear add on Facebook advertisement.  One for $40 + $20 shipping ... or ... $80 for two w/free shipping.   Well Yea !  I bought two for both bathrooms .   while putting them in I found out one of them stuck out in the doorway.  :-[
Both of them are "Right-Handed" --- So I bought a "Left-Handed" one for one of the bathrooms.
So if ya buy one - then be advised which side is the "passage-way" in your bathroom !   ;)
......................................

Its so much better and cleaner !  I still keep TP on the roll for my guest and to blow my nose on , I'm not sure having clear sinus is a good idea while seated on the throne but I'm sure having a clear-rear when ya get off the throne "IS" a good idea  !  .   ;D

What sticking out the door ? how big is it maan ???

I got a bio bidet 3000 or 4000 or sumpin …
I actually let it do its thing, then help it with my hand.
Then the paper towel and/or TP finish off the job.
Cool.
