Hi, Does the rocker cap (the top cap over the cam and tappets) have a paper gasket?............cheers Bert in Scotland.

No gasket there, just a thin bead of sealant.

Wildcat ,the sealer should be put on sparingly so as not to be squeezed out into the bearing surface or enough to plug the oil passages  ,the long bolt must be inserted in the cap before it is put in place if your motor is still in the frame  as the there won't be room to get it in with the top frame rail in the way . the cap and the head are line bored ,there is no bearing inserts fore the cam a gasket would increase tolerances around the bearings so none is used.

Upside down bolt in a corner.
