Title: WTB a new head Post by Murphy Chow on 01/12/20 at 00:05:22 Anyone have a Savage head, the bike was free but the exhaust stud is flush inside the head. I dont weld so I dont know anyone that can free it up for me. anyways not sure if it matters but I have a LS650 from 1986. I might also need some side covers also and a carb boot from the carb to the airbox. Thanks M |

Title: Re: WTB a new head Post by Dave on 01/24/20 at 05:10:45 I have a head from an 87......I am out of town for a few days and will get you photos next week. The stud most likely got broken off when the previous owner tried to remove it, and it is likely stuck. A good machinist may be able to drill it out without damaging the head.......and/or they could install a thread repair. That may cost as much as getting a replacement head. |
