Title: Boris Johnson wins re-election by a big margin
Post by srinath on 12/13/19 at 05:24:59

Brexit is on, and I am excited, its never been done before in modern history (has it) - I know countries united - east and west Germany etc, countries split like Croatia, Bosnia, south Sudan, etc.

Now what does this mean for US elections ? I'll predict soon we'll see a US-UK trade deal, after which I dunno, does this mean Trump again ?

The collapse of Euro Zone is pretty much at hand though, I'll predict Greece is the next one up for the almost opposite reason as Britain. Will France and Germany with eastern block and northern block stay in 1 unit ? Remains to be seen.

Cool.

My oldest sister lives part time in Greece, part time in the States, New York, she said something to the effect, that the last election they tossed out politicians that were screwing things up, etc.....soft on crime, pushing social agendas, not sure what all.

But she was excited, tkat FINALLY they were going to fix that mess up over there.

How will this be good for Trump?

The whole world went the "nationalist" way before, during shortly after the 16 election, India, England (Brexit) and a few others. It seemed to be an anti European union angle. Since the democrats are euro centric, essentially putting up Greta Thunberg as their flagbearer on the climate front atleast, is this trend continuing as may be evidenced by Brexit. Its almost like the more the press and Europe is against it, the more we wanna do it.

Cool.

Yeah, I have since read article that have been written since the results were reported....all of them say its bad news for liberalism/democrats/socialism....

I am not sure, not up enough on the issue itself.

I'll yield to those who do know, and even those who pretend, they do.....   ;D

I don’t follow British politics to know exactly how relevant this is to the US but the sentiment below is exactly what I’ve said in our case. Trump’s a sitting President in the middle of a great economy and his opponents represent a 180 turn from historical America. I just can’t see that happening.

“Left-wing Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn saw his party mauled in Britain’s general election Thursday as its strongholds across the country fell to Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party -- a dramatic result that commentators on both sides of the pond are seeing as a warning to socialist-leaning Democrats ahead of the U.S. presidential election.”

Yea I am reading this too. Oddly the countries that are doing well (US, UK, India etc) are getting nationalist, the ones doing badly (Argentina, Chile, Columbia, Greece) are also going nationalist.

Weirdly those countries have the worst of the broken global supply chain right along with some African countries.

The biggest part of the problem that no one seems to be recognizing is that China is economically exploiting much of the resource rich African countries under the guise of "infrastructure building" and pretty soon they will control the supply chain and it will likely get more abusive.

I don't trust anything I cant look the seller in the eye as I pay $$$ and take product, and I want to look the buyer in the eye when its reversed. AKA Craigslist for selling sheite and I buy and sell a lot of crap on it. I cant tell you how happy that makes me. The market sets the price, at its finest.

Cool.

He buy his girls on craigslist ???? Clinton ??? Cosby ??? Weinstein ??? Other powerful men ???

Sorry garbage comparison.

I am a nobody. The buyer/seller is a nobody.

I explain what I did on the bike/audio equipment - or he does depending on the transaction (buy or sell from my point of view).
We see if its great/bad etc - whoever has more knowledge here wins. I sell a GS500 or a savage - I know I have the upper hand, but on audio and other stuff - its 50/50.
No one is in a position of power - asin 17 yr old girl and Bill Clinton or Jeffrey Epstein.

Its a random guy vs random guy situation. He likes what he hears/sees, I have the upper hand, I like what I see/hear - he does. Simple.

Cool.

United we stand, divided we fall.
With a little help from my friends.
We can do it, if we work together.
There's strength in numbers.

F*ck all that,...  :-?

That only works when there is no mooching. The example they use is a bunch of sticks tied together vs each by itself, Sadly when one stick is a big tree trunk and other sticks are viruses sucking off that one, no sense for the trunk to keep the viruses around.
There is a very very fine and blurry and hard to locate line between symbiotic and parasitic relationships. In effect the parasitic relationships are so debilitating that its worth the risk of cutting off the symbiotic possibility to cut off the parasite. Sort of like cutting off more than needed to get rid of the cancer instead of leaving some of it alive and risk having the cancer still remain.

There's a couple of things that look more likely as a result of this election.

Scottish independence is building momentum. Those northerners want to be parr of Europe and have a reasonable disdain for Boris.

Irish reunification just got a bump. The DUP is looking like suckers. And nobody wants to be a sucker. Once the border controls go up the real anger will start.

The English are going to get reamed at the negotiating table. There's no reason not to screw them sideways on trade. They're a center for money laundering and trade protection rackets. Without the EU behind them, these flaws will take center stage. The deals will be one-sided as hell. And not in their favor.

I don't see much of a downside for us. We'll be able to push them around more easily. We may have to worry about them cozying up to Russia but that's about it.

BTW in England the non citizens can vote as long as they are not illegal and a commonwealth citizen - yea like someone here on a valid visa voting well before being a citizen if they were from a English speaking country, and 9 out of 10 of them voted to Brexit.
Cool.
