Title: catalytic heat Post by Hiko on 11/07/19 at 14:07:37 My catalytic Dyna muffler has developed a bright blue band around it where the catalyst is placed in the last 1000kms The bike has been rejetted to 150 main and runs the original 52.5 pilot jet the spacer has been reduced to about 3/4 It runs well no backfiring and has had this muffler and rejetting fitted 5000 kms ago I am at close to sea level Is this normal? Cannot upload photo for some reason |
Title: Re: catalytic heat Post by Dave on 11/07/19 at 14:12:10 Yep....normal. The catalyst traps some heat, and it makes the chrome blue. Don't worry about it. |
Title: Re: catalytic heat Post by Fabricio Bino on 12/28/19 at 05:48:25 Mine gets so hot that it can be seen at night glowing orange. But it's inside de exhaust, the chrome outside is perfectly fine |
