Title: Virginia turned blue...
Post by Serowbot on 11/06/19 at 14:47:24

Virginia turned blue...
Kentucky's getting bluer too...
Arizona is still reddish, but it's trending blue.
Even Texas is less red than it was.

2018 was the biggest blue shift ever...

2/3rds of Americans say they didn't feel the economic boost Trump claims.
Manufacturing, farming, coal, steel, are all hurting.
Our "allies" are now Russia, N.Korea, Syria, and Saudi Arabia...
Racism is rampant.
Mass shootings are so routine as to be barely newsworthy.
White supremacy feels validated by our President.

Trump is sure to lose the vote by a bigger margin than 2016,..
..but he could still be reelected.
... the electoral college could give us 4 more years of this.

Do you realize the last Republican to be elected President by a majority vote was 1988?...

I do... in fact, I voted for George HWB.

All true. Thank God the Founders came up with that EC idea....

As has been said and difficult to refute, if 5 lions and 4 zebras are voting on what's for dinner, better hope you're a lion.

But how much of that matters when at the end of the day, its Trump and a very good economy against Warren and her plan to put everyone on Medicare.

If she gets your nomination and sticks with that, you guys are fxxked. You think suburban moms are going to think putting their kids on Medicare is the way to go? The visuals are terrible. And forget about the fact it's impossible to pay for, the very name Medicare is death for her.

I read a great comment that Elizabeth Warren's 100 page Medicare-for-All Bill is the longest suicide note in history.

You may want to retract this post at some point - because as I've said all along, it's not about the economy.  It's about trump's (lack of) popularity.  his "brand" couldn't keep Virginia and is probably going to lose the Kentucky governorship.

These are just simple facts.  Facts that lead to the conclusion that trump is probably going to be defeated by any democrat that's put up against him.  If it's Warren, so be it.

This is only the beginning.

Maybe. Maybe not. The Presidency is almost always about the economy. You think it's about something else, but you are usually wrong when it comes to things like this.
Its unlikely Warren's sketchy and risky plan to put everyone on Medicare is going to defeat a sitting President in a great economy. Possible, but unlikely. Of course, we've got a year to go still.

It wasn't the economy that got Trump elected- examine the trend line -it was hate and shame... and Russia.

True, it wasn’t the economy. It was the lesser of two evils. An unknown Donald Trump or a known Hilary Clinton. Russia had nothing to do with it.

2020 will be a known Trump and his economy vs Warren and her Medicare plan. Trump likely wins with that matchup.

If he breathes, he lies.   Some radically more successful key players disagree with you-  namely, Putin and Trump.   The Trump campaign sharing polling data with Russian intelligence is only one example of your cognitive dissonance.   I can already see the rationalizations spinning in your head, digesting reality into a form you can crap out and proudly present.

Russian influence had zero to do with the outcome of the election. Keep thinking that..... stay in denial.

...or no rationalization- just Mark droppings.

Some suburbs of Philly turned blue for the first time since the Civil War...
Trump barely won Pennsylvania in 2016...

Democrats win across the Philadelphia region as Republicans are fading even on friendly turf

All true.
But when the choice becomes a two way choice between a risky chance by putting everyone on Medicare at a price that's impossible to pay.......or sticking with all the baggage that goes with Trump as President with a great economy......

I think Trump wins that contest.

Polls show people want a Medicare type solution.
I think as an option rather than any radical changeover, but gradually folks will see the advantage.
Mainly,.. it's not tied to your job,... which traps people in jobs they don't like.  A kind of medical blackmail.
People want the freedom to pursue their dreams without fear of losing health care.

during the John McCain Barack Obama campaign, healthcare was the primary topic. McCain's plan basically began the process of driving healthcare away from employers and into the hands of individuals. Obamas plan forced people to buy a product whether they wanted it or not.
where would we be today if, even though Obama won the election, he had adopted McCain's ideology and begin that process of forcing healthcare into the same competitive marketplace property and casualty insurance occupies.  I agree it's ridiculous that people make occupational decisions based upon health insurance. That's nuts. We've all probably done that. I know I have.

but you start talking to suburban moms about putting their kids on Medicare, and forget it, you've lost.  I don't care how bad they hate Donald Trump, they ain't going to do that.

"To put the political consequences of the Trump presidency into perspective, since Trump was elected, Rs have lost 329 seats in state legislatures. At the same point in the Obama presidency, Ds lost 768 seats. MSM is exaggerating election 2019. A little perspective is needed."

Saw this today that illustrates my point about the final matchup of Trump vs Warren or Sanders. The polls leading up to the final race mean nothing. They're too abstract. When ot becomes clear, things change.

Trump job approval in Midwestern swing states (per Cook/KFF)

WI: 42%
MI: 41%
MN: 41%
PA: 39%

His favorability % in those same states on Election Night 2016? PA (42%), WI (35%); MN (35%); MI (39%).
