Hi,

Cdi unit on my S40 engine is dead. Anyone have one for sale or know if the later type fits?

There's plenty of the later type for sale...

I don't believe the later types will work the rotors( The magnet for the pickup coil that tells the sparkplug to fire) are in different places on the older and newer bikes , you really should buy one that matches/or closely matches the year of your bike . the change over seems to have happened between 1995 and 1996

The later type has a different connector, so add that to the list if you have to go that way.

Also, you need to get another rotor to go with the newer TCI (transistor controlled ignition).
