Title: Chirping Post by mattyp on 08/13/19 at 11:50:53 Hey everyone. I got a 2012 S40 for my first bike and I am loving it. I had a tune up done (air filter, oil filter, oil change and belt adjustment) and now it is making a chirping noise. I mostly hear it in 3rd and 4th and don't hear it when in neutral. Not sure if this is enough info but I will provide whatever I can. I assume the belt wasn't adjusted properly? Thanks for any input! |

Title: Re: Chirping Post by verslagen1 on 08/13/19 at 12:35:50 Well if you had the shop do it, most likely the belt is too tight. http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1335401723 Also, check belt alignment. http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1260147857/0 Also, check pulley nut is tight. Take the cover off and make a mark across the pulley and lockwasher. And while in gear rock the bike fore and aft and check to see if the mark has moved. |

Title: Re: Chirping Post by ohiomoto on 08/14/19 at 07:42:23 Right on Hiko. Even just replacing the stock bearing will work...for a while. But, sometimes the belt is just too tight. |
