Post by hammerman47 on 07/26/19 at 16:39:49

Trying to wire a led tail-stop light on my 2004 650. It is a 3 wire light and says black and red brake light. Black and green running light. Have hooked up and all lights light up on running and no change when you press brake. Have checked and have 12 volts on running light and 12 volts when you press brake. new to led lights so need help. Thanks  James

What do you have the red and green wired to?

The red wire is to the brake wire on bike and the green is to hot. If you just hook up green all lights on tail light come on. If you just hook up red wire and mash brake all lights come on. If you hook up both red and green all lights come when you turn on key. Ground wire is hooked up on all test.

Seeing as LED's require little power , your new light may be similar to some led turn signals and require resisters added to the red ands green supply wires (just a guess ) .

I also added front and rear led turn lights and they work ok. They do blink a little faster than normal but not real fast. Light was made for a motorcycle so it should work you would think.
