Title: Rear rack for LS650? Post by DesertCat on 07/20/19 at 07:47:22 I know this must have been discussed here many times but I can't find it using the search function . . Is this the best rear rack for an LS650? https://www.motosport.com/suzuki-genuine-accessories-rear-rack |

Title: Re: Rear rack for LS650? Post by DesertCat on 07/20/19 at 08:34:58 I only carry one bag, a 20 lb bag of tools. My road-trip days have been over for 15 years. |

Its a small platform so you will want to tie down anything bigger than a sixxer really good. Check the market or ebay if you want a cheaper one since people discard the rear accessories after bobbing their bikes. |

======================== All my BMWs have either a rear rack or enough space and grab bars to tie down my tool bag. But my Kaw and Suz don't so I wear a back pack with the tool bag inside -- not the most comfortable deal. I rarely ride more than 50 miles, so it's not too bad. |

=============== First, off, whether I'm 20 miles from home or 200 miles from home doesn't matter that much -- I'm still stranded. Second, 20 lbs of tools isn't much of a load -- it's less than 1 cubic foot (12 in x 8 in x 8 in roll) BTW, I carry a tire plugger kit and CO2 gun (w/cartridges) to fix a flat. Somehow I don't think that regular servicing will prevent flats. Of course, if I get an LS650 with its tubed tires then that won't help me much. But I do carry tire tools, a carryover from my youth on motorcycles when it was possible to repair a flat tire roadside . . . . |
