Title: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/01/19 at 18:14:28 I am looking for a lager windshield than the one that came standard with the 2015 S4. Have not found one online made to fit my bike. |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by justin_o_guy2 on 07/01/19 at 20:33:20 You can save a Lot of money if you just go with Beer goggles.. |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by batman on 07/01/19 at 21:02:37 You could look at- Memphis Shades motorcycle windscreens- be aware that the bigger the screen is the more fuel you use and the slower the bike will run. I prefer a good helmet and a face shield . |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/02/19 at 09:23:26 I have a full helmet with a face shield but don't like the noise and dealing with the headwind, I am getting too old for that (75), previous bikes I owned had shields and made the ride much more enjoyable. Thanks for the input. |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by batman on 07/02/19 at 09:42:35 You may (if it's possible ) adjust the shield you have to a more upright angle , that way the wind may go over your head , rather than striking you. |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/02/19 at 09:50:13 Checked, Memphis Shades motorcycle windscreens, nothing listed for the s40. No adjustment on present shield. Thanks again for trying to help me. |

the vs800 intruder or c50 have nearly the same front end. Mine came with one, I'll have to check with model, but I didn't have trouble with it. It's just too big for hot sunny days. |

Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/02/19 at 11:09:05 Yes, let me know please if this would fit my 2015 s40 None, online sellers specify the shield for a 2015 s40, seen some with dates op to 2007 |

Title: Re: Larger windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/03/19 at 14:56:03 I did not know that this forum get so much joy from a typo. I will have no trouble entertaining you guys!!! MY native langues "Nederlands" will be a great assistance doing this. More to come! |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by 1st2know on 07/03/19 at 15:15:42 I installed a "Slipstreamer SS-30' on my 1998 Savage with no problem: I bought the 22 inch model, and it is HUGE, expect fuel consumption to go up. But yeah, it blocks the wind very well, you can even light a cigarette at freeway speeds with one of these installed. |

I'm an equal opportunity kinda guy. I knew you weren't local and, yes, I took advantage of a little typo, Do you guys use the term Beer goggles? |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by batman on 07/04/19 at 16:03:29 I had a Memphis slims 21 inch shield on my Savage ,way back ,just went with a decent "hat" instead. |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/06/19 at 11:56:14 I checked, They do not list any shield for the 2015 s40, but it may work. If anyone can confirm they fit, I will buy one. I called but all lines were busy. Will try again! Thanks for the info! |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by batman on 07/06/19 at 12:11:17 I think the price you see on their site is for the shield alone, mounting hardware is extra , ( about 1/3 more) |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by momule on 07/09/19 at 21:18:16 I bought/installed a National Cycles Ranger Heavy Duty windshield with National's recommended mounting kit and it's perfect on my S40. Height is somewhat adjustable and it's a straightforward installation. Cost new from NC was approx $315. It's polycarb and coated. I'm very happy with mine because now all the wind noise is at a minimum and it's low enough to see over. |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/11/19 at 18:55:06 Thank you momule, I will look in to this, this may what I am looking for! |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/11/19 at 19:19:48 momule, Do you have a model # for that s40 windshield you recommended. There website does NOT list anything for the s40. |
Title: Re: Lager windshield Post by FlyingH on 07/20/19 at 09:53:49 Bought and installed a Givi A260 and I am very happy with the improvement. My Savager shield that came with the bike I will sell for only $50 in like new condition. Anyone interested? [C:\Users\Ludi\Pictures][/img] |
