Title: Raptor problem Post by zipidachimp on 05/22/19 at 20:25:39 Replacing the fuel line today, the brass spigot connecting the Raptor to the carb pulled out when I pulled off the line. Tapped it back into place with some Permatex fuel-safe goo, I'll see tomorrow if it holds or leaks. No evidence of any soldering/glue on the original part. Yes! genuine yamaha part! >:( Was this a fluke? |
Title: Re: Raptor problem Post by Dave on 05/23/19 at 03:40:09 I have not had this happen on a Raptor - but I have had it happen on several factory petcocks on other bikes over the years. I did the same as you......I believe I used a small coating of permanent threadlocker and then tapped them back into place. |
Title: Re: Raptor problem Post by zipidachimp on 05/23/19 at 22:26:32 looks like the Permatex is holding. Same stuff I used on the Raptor gasket when I installed. If I get a failure, I'll try the threadlocker. Cheers! 8-) ps; I'm using black fuel line this time. Can't see if the float valve is holding, or leaking past the valve. That's why I prefer the clear stuff. |
Title: Re: Raptor problem Post by Serowbot on 05/24/19 at 08:53:06 That happened on my Mikuni carb once... I just shoved it back in. |
