Title: Wiseco pistons
Post by DennisB on 03/18/19 at 05:51:17

I seem to be having a hard time finding a stock 1mm over piston for my wife's 86 savage. I've read that the dr650 piston works. Just want to be sure before I buy one that is a 90-95 dr650 that interchanges. I need to go to 95 or 96mm. The bore size is currently a very loose std bore.

Our forum member source for the pistons is Lancer, and he has 94, 95, 96 & 97mm available:

Here is one of his eBay listings:

The pistons were made for the DR650 originally.....luckily they happen to fit our bike as well.  I don't know the specific part numbers for each piston.

The scariest part of this would be finding a place that can bore your cylinder and to it right....they only get one chance at boring it properly.  Too tight and it could seize - too loose and you are starting with a worn out cylinder.

I have all of the pistons in stock, from 94mm up to 97mm.
$199 each with free shp. for all US addresses.
International is more.

Dave is absolutely correct about the machine shop that bores an air cooled cylinder for a Wiseco High Compression Piston.  They MUST know what they are doing.  If you want to bore your cylinder larger you need to find a shop that dies this work frequently.
