Title: Ballistic Battery company folds
Post by Dave on 02/20/19 at 10:03:05

The Ballistic Battery company has closed - they stated they just cannot continue to operate and build good American made batteries that are competitive with the cheaper made imports.

They probably can't ... how do you compete against cheap labor??

Dang it! That was still one of the things I needed to buy for my Ryca CS-1 conversion! I had looked up what specific battery I needed from ballistic, but now that part of their website no longer functions. I was gonna check Amazon or ebay to see if there were still some in stock somewhere... Anybody here know what ballistic battery is needed for the savage? Smaller the better. Let me know if you have any ideas on the specific battery or any other brands that have a small but reliable battery that might work for my uses. Thanks in advance guys.

There are some still on eBay, but not for $39 for the Savage.
You need a -12 or -14 size for our bike.  These cost in the $140-180 range.  You can go to a -16 if you really want to but it’s not necessary.  I have the -14 and it spins my engine up quickly and will do that without inguaging the Compression release.
It has plenty of power.

Thanks guys for the info and links, those EarthX batteries look good, and are definitely something to ponder. But in looking for ballistic batteries online I came across Antigravity's batteries, and I'm leaning towards the AG-801 currently. Anyone have any experience using Antigravity's batteries?

I have an AG-801 in my bike.  It's been in my bike for 2 years now and has been great so far.  The charging system is stock.
