My stepdad is on the way to the hospital with severe internal bleeding. He is passing huge amounts of blood when trying to pee. His name is Don and is 96 years old.

Praying that Don has a few more chores to do before going Home ! Could be this prayer chain is one of them ? If ya'll get him back , then Love on him for all of us !

We are back from the ER.
Don is ok for now.
He was taken off the blood thinners, given vit. K, and had a bladder flush to give him a bit of a start without any blood clots, of which there were several in the bladder, along with lots of blood.
We brought him home and he is feeling better and will be watched by mom so if anything happens he will go right back, and have more scans more labs. The doc thought he likely had a cyst in his bladder that caused all the bleeding.
Thank you all for the prayers, they are much appreciated.

I feel for him, having been through the same thing this past November.

Warfrin use after surgeries is fraught with unfriendly things, really it is .......

The doctors tell you this, but it really doesn't strike home until you have lived through it once.

Not sure how this factors in, but if the doctors feel
Good enough to let him leave, I am thinking that is a good sign....

Just a few months away from 66 and claiming my SS benefit, I was thinking of waiting a few more years, but nixed that idea.
I am finding out the best medicine is to stay on top of your health before it becomes more critical.
I need to be better about it, however I seem to find new excuses to beg off.
Not sure if I am unique, or do most folks not take things preventive, waiting till the path of recovery is more stacked against them at reversing the damage from bad habits, etc?

Glad he is home, that in itself is very healing!
