Also, it seems Pocahontas went to the Christine Blasey Ford School of Truth. Warren said her mother was Indian which would be impossible based upon a tiny fraction of Native American DNA.

Much of Warren’s claim to American Indian heritage was debunked in 2014 when official documents, including a marriage certificate, appeared to prove that Warren’s story about her parents being forced to elope due to her mother’s Indian heritage was not true.

In 2012, Warren told the Boston Globe, “My father’s family so objected to my mother’s Native American heritage that my mother told me they had to elope.” But there appears to be a marriage certificate and contemporaneous press accounts of Warren’s parents having a Methodist wedding in 1932 — which would mean there was no elopement.

Warren has also claimed her great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith, was part American Indian. The Boston Globe, however, reports that Smith “identified as white in historical documents.”

But the thing is, she didn't lie. You want it to be a lie, but it's simply not. She's always admitted that her knowledge of her heritage was anecdotal. She never got a job because of it. She then took a DNA test and it showed that she actually has Native American blood. Not as much as her family had claimed, but nonetheless, it's there.

Again, live in the real world for one moment and think about how you know about your own heritage. Were you 100% certain of all the facts of your history back in the 80's when there was no Ancestry.com?

Look, if your parents tell you something as a child you believe but as you get older it clearly was just one of those things parents did….. My last name happens to be very famous. My dad told me when I was a kid we were related to this family. When I got older, I figured out that was just a story. Warren saw her story as an advantage so she capitalized on it by labeling herself a “woman of color”. Now that's funny. She even published recipes in a 'Pow Wow Chow' book…..

She lied and got to call herself a minority, a person of color, a check mark for diversity at some university. Everyone else let her get by with her lie except Trump. He called her on it. Not only did she foolishly take a test, she released the findings which made it even worse. And she did it a couple weeks before a big election putting even more Democratic seats at risk.

Not only is she a fraud, she's not particularly bright either.

Another example of Trump exploiting his opponents’ weakness and liabilities. If she runs against him, Trump will bring this all back up again and donate 1/1024 of a million dollars.

By the way, my wife did one of those DNA things a year or so ago. We looked at it last night. Turns out, I’m married to an Indian! Got myself a squaw and didn’t even know it!

This is why people shouldn't push an issue if the proper parameters have not been established.

President Trump states he will pay 1mill to a charity if Warren proves she has Indian heritage, but the comment was too shallow to have enough substance to be pursued as we see now. Nobody established, prior to testing how far back the lineage can go, what percentages etc. As such Trump can say that's not enough proof, and thousands of people get caught up in an argument that never had enough parameter set to be worth talking about.

This is two people trading jabs for political reasons, and I can't see any reason to give the situation any credibility as it was all posturing to begin with.

I think part of the problem is that people multiply all ancestral genes as if they have equal genetic contribution to the living person which is entirely not true.

Not every ancestor contributes equally, this has been known since sequencing started. So if one moves up 10 generations and considers every ancestor equally then you get these 1/1024 numbers when in actuality a single ancestor going back just to the last century would provide numbers consistent with the results found in Warren.

Part of the problem is people use the remedial for-profit DNA sequencing models presented by companies like 23andMe etc. that provide simplified algorithms because they pull from a pre-analyzed pool and present to the layman. Real DNA sequencing is considerably more complex to analyze, and with proper examination it shows that Warren doesn't have a lower than average Native American (the DNA compared in her case was not US-based native American due to lack of material) but a higher than average, but its based off of migration pattern DNA and not currently localized.

As far as I know the actual database information was not released, and the method used to analyze the information provided is up to each person individually. What I meant to convey is that given the limited information available on the topic it can be analyzed in multiple ways giving opposite results.

I for one do not choose to use the all ancestors provide exactly the same amount of genetic influence and would use the method that utilizes the more accurate multi-value system.
