Title: Lowering Forks....shortening tubes Post by Dave on 09/18/18 at 09:47:27 I didn't want to derail an existing thread - but the discussion about how to lower the forks and still keep the fork travel was being discussed. Some folks install spacers to reduce the amount of travel by 2" - this can cause for a choppy ride as the amount of travel is reduced considerably. Some folks change the top fork yoke to a clamp style that allows the tubes to be raised. This is a bit expensive as you have to purchase a new top yoke.....or modify a bottom yoke. These work great for clip-on handlebars - but you have to get creative to mount handlebars. The new discussion is the potential for having the fork tubes shortened and re-threaded. 3C3B3A3C3E3C273C530 wrote:
I wonder if we get a group buy with this fellow if we can get a discount.....or can he buy a "tap" to cut the threads and spend less time in the machining process? |

Well, another option opens! Thanks for that! 8-) They used to advertise extensively, haven't seen an ad for them in a long time. |
