Now if we all cross our collective fingers for SANTA to-be that GOOD to ya ,

Thanks MM , I always feel honored to be invited ! We will see what the FTR looks like soon, see if they did it right or screwed up. No one has ever built a real production model street tracker (V Twin) that is the real deal. That's why my letter to Santa was left unfinished.

I just knew they would screw up the looks ! However I am impressed with the 120 H/P ! Just looking at the pics I see at least a 100 lbs can be shed rather quickly. They won't hit the dealerships till spring 2019 so I got time and so does the aftermarket to make a cool exhaust for it.

I sometimes can't figure out why motorcycles seem to keep getting heavier - while cars keep getting lighter.  The TU250 weighs 310 pounds, while the SR400 jumps up to 384 pounds!

I was looking to find a replacement fender that looks more like a 60's style bike.  The SR400 is chrome....I wanted something painted so I looked at the TU250 Suzuki.  The dang thing has a steel inner and steel outer fender!  I suppose it is durable - but is in really necessary to double them up?

The sub-frame on the TU250 appears to support the rear seat so the rear fender doesn't support any load, my guess as to why it has an inner panel is to control vibration.  It might have been prone to fatigue cracks.

I too am baffled by the way motorcycles have gained weight.  Liquid cooling obviously adds some weight and the frames have been stiffened as compared to those of the sixties.  Cast wheels and bigger tires are slightly heavier and so is the drive train when shaft drive is used but still, they seem to be gaining more weight than that.

Every component in a car these days is scrutinized for weight but it seems that with motorcycles a lot of components and the frame itself use more steel than necessary.  Over engineering is the safe way to build something if you don't want to spend the time to engineer it properly.  The total weight of a motorcycle seems to be a low priority consideration.

And WHY a 4.5" touch screen on a bike built for one purpose ( basically for raising hell ) wherever you go. Some of it doesn't make sense at all. Strip it down add turn signals and mirrors. I spent some time on my tracker addeing in diodes to make the tail lights operate as turn signals. Keep it light and simple and legal for the road. It's a street tracker not a Honda Gold Wing , wonder if has a option for heated seat & grips !

Pretty stupid in production.  Rather build a Rolland's version.

I totally agree with that !

Oh...I totally misunderstood the post title.

I thought this was a breakdown of:
the number of teeth Ruttly has / the amount of money in Ruttly's wallet / the number of PBRs Ruttly drinks in a day

What an advertisement video!  Racing around and zig-zagging in inner-city roads, literally dragging his fingers on the asphalt on a tight turn, driving with one hand regularly, doing burnouts.  These guys certainly aren't weary of a lawsuit!  :-?

I like it all but the chain drive .    After two Harleys I'm sure the rear cylinder thing is a BAD Idea.    A parallel twin makes so much more sense !   ;)

I'll stick with the Guzzi , its light enough to play with ,   quick enough to keep up ,  cheep enough to buy  and gets over 60 mpg if you treat it right.
(Do wish 6th was geared a little taller).  ::)    RedLine high gear is about 115mph/6800rpm.
