Title: Smoke from air intake
Post by Dumbkid21 on 09/17/18 at 10:55:48

Hey everyone. So i have an 86 suzuki savage. Ive had non stop issues with her and ridden her a total of 5 hrs. I just put in a satarter and i hit the switch she starts cranking then. Pow! white smoke from air intake. Now it wants to crank and the minute when it does crank white smoke and stops. Any idea whats going on

Take 2 'adjust valves' and 'adjust idle speed' and call us in the morning.

;)

white smoke maybe just a true back fire (w/out fire) due to low idle speed setting.
or it maybe a bad valve adjustment.
I've seen both.

I think you better get eyes on the cam chain. Pronto.
Stop trying to figure out the way it runs until you know what the cam is doing.

JOG's right,  I wouldn't be even starting the bike before checking the cam chain/ tensioner.
