Title: Rex's muffler Post by MMRanch on 07/15/18 at 07:31:36 Hay Lancer , I was looking at mufflers and found this : It made me think of the one on Rex and how good he sounded ! Could it be the same muffler ? |
Title: Re: Rex's muffler Post by LANCER on 07/15/18 at 16:11:03 Nope, the muffler on REX is a R&D test muffler made by Cone Engineering that I picked up 10 years ago, or perhaps a bit more. |
Title: Re: Rex's muffler Post by MMRanch on 07/16/18 at 19:17:21 I was kind of looking for a pair for the Guzzi. Those factory mufflers don't really have a nice note - their just quiet and borering ! Its fuel injected and might need a little back pressure ? It also gets really good MPG (63 has been the best) - don't want to mess that up ! :) Also , the after market pipes are usually lighter too , so loosing a few pounds ain't bad either ! |

Have you looked at Cone Engineerings Website ? coneeng.com Many shapes and sizes and you can select the type of baffling you want...quiet to wide open no baffle. They are all stainless and and priced from $120-170. Much less expensive than the typical name brands. |
Title: Re: Rex's muffler Post by MMRanch on 07/18/18 at 07:01:35 from $120-170. They make some perty pipes ! Aaaahaa ! the Joy of a Single Cylinder ;D just buying one can be GOOOD ! ;) I'll probably get an Emgo and put a DB Killer in it --- or make a DB Killer ? :) $$$ |

Emgo mufflers are cheaply made; make terrible sound and just dont work well at all.... in my opinion. I have had several and tried to make them work better. It helped a little but not nearly enough. |
