Title: Re: Bikes we don't get in NA ! Post by engineer on 06/14/18 at 17:59:06 It looks good. The older I get the more interested I am in lighter weight bikes. Do they sell any of those SWM bikes in the US? |
Title: Re: Bikes we don't get in NA ! Post by zipidachimp on 06/14/18 at 21:30:45 at 74, light weight is a priority. Take a look at the style/shape of this bike: gorgeous wheels, tank, seat, controls and ask yourself why Yamaha gives us a milktoast SR400, and complains no one is buying. A street bike with a DR650 engine would be at the top of my list. Leave it to the italians to put style on a small street bike! cheers! 8-) ps: to answer your question, talk to these guys: https://www.motomandistributing.com/swm-street-bikes |

Title: Re: Bikes we don't get in NA ! Post by Gary_in_NJ on 06/27/18 at 10:39:24 What is the relationship between SWM and Macco? That bike is clearly a Macco 400 with lights. 687560766664716A776C050 wrote:

Although there is a strong resemblance.....I don't think that they are the same bike. |
Title: Re: Bikes we don't get in NA ! Post by badwolf on 06/27/18 at 13:40:54 I'll believe that is a Sachs engine judging by the finning. Maico used larger fins a little different style. The engine side cover is different around the crank also. Do a YouTube search for Maico history. They have a good documentry on them. |
Title: Re: Bikes we don't get in NA ! Post by Ruttly on 06/27/18 at 19:56:27 Husky was known for the 6 , 7 & 8 speed mxer's might be a Husky retro copy , look at the frame close. |

It is possible for a 250 twin to operate at freeway speeds - my 250 Ninja can run 70-75 mph all day long. On more relaxed trips at 60 mph or less I have gotten as high as 77 mpg.....mileage in the middle 60's is more common. I am not sure the Suzuki V-Twin cruiser would be capable of freeway speeds, as it likely is tuned a bit milder than the Ninja. I suspect it is similarly "under tuned" for beginners.....just like the Savage. |
Title: Re: Bikes we don't get in NA ! Post by badwolf on 06/30/18 at 16:25:33 I love the front fenderon that 250! Too bad it's only a 18'' wheel. |
Title: Re: Bikes we don't get in NA ! Post by Fast 650 on 07/07/18 at 13:30:31 Something else we don't get in NA.... More fun than watching the superbike races. The oldest one in this race was 10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dPAYxEGBk8 |
