She's using the strap on her sandal to upshift.  It feels no different than riding in tennis shoes.

I somehow doubt she would be a member, considering that, many, possibly a majority on this site are post menopausal males.

So, what would be the discussion if it was a guy in flipflops, not a cute girl. Today was the start of summer here in Jersey, passed a guy on a Harley, on other side of highway in shorts, no shirt and flip flops on his way towards the beach. Not sure I would even try to back the bike out of the garage dressed like him.

To give a really big  Care Bear stare !!! at the ugly 18 wheeler coming at her in her lane .......

Pow!  Blew him right on off the road, tumbling end over end in the air.

(Girls have different superheros and superpowers than guys do --- how many little bitty sized mortars & heavy machine guns have you seen on bike triple trees over the years?   Same thing.)

(PS   the yellow teddy bear is really a fire hydrant that is much further away from the bike ...... but who is looking at the bear anyway, its a good looking girl sitting on that thing)

My comment would be the same.  It's not my business what said guy or said girl wears.

I wear an open face helmet and ride to work every day in casual clothing. Sometimes even in shorts.  I've even ridden my bike in sandals a few times.  I'm planning on NOT crashing and if I do, I hope my helmet does its job.  As for the rest of me??  I might be hurting, but that's where my risk tolerance is.

I don' know all that much about riding around town in CA.

I went for an 80 mile ride Wednesday afternoon on my local roads, and I was wearing a full face helmet, armored jacket, armored gloves, jeans and boots.  Mos of the ride was in the 40 - 60 mph range.

I don't know what the local bugs are made out of - but some of them must be be wearing helmets and armor as well.  I had 1 bug hit my shoulder and another hit my leg that had enough of in impact that it "stung" - and caused me to wonder how a bug could cause that much of an impact.  I believe they are the same bugs that when they hit your helmet make a loud "THWACK" sound.

So......you aren't going to ever find me riding in sandals, shorts or T shirts - it would just be too painful!
