I have some questions regarding the alternator rotor remover tool.

The Clymer manual specifies Suzuki part number 09930-30720. Some sites on the web state that part number has been superseded by 09930-30721, and other sites seem to indicate that 09930-30721 is not applicable to the LS650. Will part number 09930-30721 work on the LS650?

Can anyone tell me if the 50mm internal threads on the correct puller are left hand or right hand?

Can anyone tell me if the jack bolt for the tool has left hand or right hand threads?

I appreciate the help.

IIRC both are RH threads. Will check mine if needed. Some Suzuki DR's need the same tool.

The threads are right hand.

Several of the pit bikes use the same puller also. I got mine from Amazon from a pit bike dealer for less money than what Suzuki gets for the same tool.

If you are planning to pull the flywheel too, you will need a 46mm deep socket for that nut after you pull the rotor.

Yep....and it is waaaaay back on the shaft so it requires a deep socket.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Are both threads (50mm internal and jack bolt) right hand. If the jack bolt is RH thread isn't it just gonna try to screw in the bolt that normally holds the rotor, since you leave that in place (backed off 2 turns) before you install the tool.

Both threads are right hand. Run the center screw out and put some fresh oil on the threads, install the tool on the rotor hand tight, run the center screw in by hand, then: 1) If you have an impact you just bump the button a couple of times and the rotor jumps off. 2) If you don't have an impact you put a large Crescent wrench on the puller body and ratchet/socket on the center screw....and turn it in pretty tight. Then squarely whack the end of the center screw with a proper hammer, then tighten again....repeat as necessary.
